Directions to Rice Lake
Take I-94 West from Minneapolis toward St. Cloud. Exit at State Hwy 23. At the exit ramp stop sign, turn left toward Paynesville. Continue west about 25 miles passing Cold Spring and Richmond. Continuing past Richmond about two miles.
To travel to the east side of Rice Lake, take County Road 43 south. To travel to the west side of Rice Lake, do not turn on to CR 43, but continue on State Hwy 23 toward Paynesville to 263rd Ave. Turn left and go south on 263rd Ave.
Or...Take State Hwy 55 west from Minneapolis toward Eden Valley and Paynesville.
Rice Lake Public Access
There are 2 public accesses on the lake. The south access is off of Stearns Cty Rd 34 and Hwy 55. It is the deeper access of the two with plenty of parking. It's located close to where the Crow River flows both in and out of the lake.
The second access is the West access in Schauman's Bay. It is located off of Cross Creek Road/263rd Avenue and 180th Avenue. This is a shallow access with parking for 20 vehicles.
