Full Lake Vegetation Survey Results for AIS

RLA Full Lake AIS Vegetation Survey was done June 16th. Reports showed that they did not find any Starry Stonewort as of yet within the treatment area at the access or at any other site around Rice Lake so far in June. Blue Water sampled 649 points.

There was a fair amount of Curly Leaf Pondweed AIS, but it was dominated by light to moderate growth.  There were areas of heavy Curly Leaf Pondweed (CLP) growth as well. They determined at this time we have 60 acres of CLP.

When we receive approval and are able to implement the MN Statue103D we will have funding to treat the Curly Leaf Pondweed in future years in early spring approximately 2 to 3 weeks after ice out. This will improve our water quality in June.

See maps for areas of Curly Pondweed identified this year.
